first world problems

running a town is definately about money , the people running things gotta spend your money  so if they don't keep up on maintaining infrastructure or are constantly cheaping-out, don't apply for & get infrastructure grants, things get too far behind. Replacing roads are expensive so they can only do so many on a rotating basis and maybe all they can do is re-fill pot holes but cheaping out on an old garbage truck and paying double the labor for 2 people @ 70K a year to ride a garbage truck looks cheaper but is it when you pay double the salary and workers get hurt lifting bins ?

we used to have the " I'm retired so i can spend more time at this job " old fucks on council/ mayor except all they did was argue about not spending money, things have gone middle or left wing for 10+ yrs and i think more shit gets done.

At the changing of the guard when the new young mayor and middle/ left town council got in there was a big party at the hilltop, leaning on the pool table my buddy Gavin said to me and I was thinking the exact same thing " Look at this place man if you set off a bomb it would take out every freak in the valley "

Our current mayor is a Third Day Adventist preacher or whatever they call it. Has been involved in Conversion therapy done to homosexuals up to his election and possibly after. People have come forward to say what he was part of including a couple of victims. Apparently was video on YouTube now gone. Once it all came out he resigned from preaching yet his family still goes there. Voters here are ok with it all because why not have a perpetrator of a hate crime as your communities mayor.   Not surprised though as this community has connections to the Heritage Front from what am told.

the mayor of a small hard right christian town  12 kms east was busted for hard drugs so he had to resign, shortly there after he passed away at 56

Telks is hard right wing christian? Hahahaha, not even close! One family is.  Thats all, the rest smoke more weed and party harder than the rest of the valley.

I can legaly buy weed on main street with a visa card so I'm not sure its all that indicative of anything,

but T town is the home of the Christian heritage party so you can look on-line for which area voted for what party and that would be more indicative of the right wing thing

we already know they don't know how to use condoms cuz we can see all the anti abortion signs on the the way to telkwa

I hope they all got the narcan kits

Oh we have those Christian cult groups in Kingston. Also seen the Christian cult colleges up near Kamaniskeg Lake in the Combermere area.  There "level headed" beliefs caused problems durung Covid restrictions.
