If you get the Tyaughton hardtail you'll have swapable rear wheels

Ya I thought about that, maybe I’ll still snag one after the new bike is sorted and old one is gone.

If the Tyaughton had a 148mm rear end, I'd (totally unreasonably since I just built up a new hardtail last spring) have a frame coming my way, but it's one of the rare instances where the SuperBoost rear end is beneficial for me : )

Pulled the trigger on a large Raw-dogg, thanks my dudes.  Very excited.

Looks like the hardtail price went up overnight, gunna have to source something else there I guess.

Congrats man! Enjoy your NBD when it arrives, and don't forget to wear your best socks (a ridiculous New Bike Day tradition that my buddies started).

It’s all very exiting, the last complete new mountain bike I bought was in ‘98!

I like that sock thing too, gives me an excuse to treat myself to a new pair.

Loving Mons Royal riding socks lately. If you want merino, you could do a whole lot worse.

I’m all over Blue Sky clothing for my merino and bamboo socks now — $8/pair!

Whaaaat? Checking that out now... Oooo, there's a store 5min away from my house. 60% Marino for $8, 75% Bamboo for $6. That's unbelieveable.

Congrats!  I was oh so close to pulling the trigger on a Tyaughton or a Rootdown on 'Black Friday' but my son had an orthodontic appointment the following Tuesday and so I waited - and thankfully I did because the funds I had saved for a 2nd bike were quickly used on a set of braces!

Hopefully at some point in 2024 my hardtail dreams will come true.

I feel ya man, hold tight and your time will come.

This is the way of the dad and to be honest most of the time I don’t even mind. I’ll get my fancy dream ride once they’re moved out, right?  RIGHT?!?
