Hallo! I want to change my brake pads in sram code and hope v4.

I do enduro and light dh riding.

I would like your opinion on these 3, if anyone has tested them.

In order of importance it would be: bite power+fading resistance, low noise, life.

1. Galfer purple (e-bikes)

2. Galfer green (pro)

3. Trickstuff standard (grey)

4. Trickstuff Power (red)

Kind regards!

I can only compare the Galfer Green to the stock Code RSC metallic. They have better bite, more power, are quieter, and only last 40% as long. Probably same life as stock organics?  Never run them yet in the wet.

The changes a easily noticeable, but don't turn them into some other brake. They still feel like RSC's, just a little more powerful.

So normaly I pay 39$ for a set of padz at the LBS so 78$ to do both wheels, I just bought Nukeproof from CRC, I got a card with 4 sets of padz with springs for 56$ so thats like 14$ a wheel and I shouldn't have to buy padz for a couple years

I'm running a set in the bike now and they don't seem to be any different than the 39$ SRAM padz

Not in Codes or Hopes, but I've used green galfer pads in my Dominions for the past couple of years and they're excellent. Quieter than stock sintered, no less powerfull and they last really well in mixed conditions. Their lack of fade is another plus.

@XXX_er - I did try Nukeproof semi-metallic pads at one point, as I was drawn in by their value proposition. Unfortunately they melted onto the disc the first time they did a big descent, which required a thorough cleanup of the discs and switched straight back to galfer pros. Not tried the Nukeproof sintered though.

Does anyone here service / rebuild their own brakes? (pistons, calipers etc.) If so, where is the best place to buy parts?

Which brakes are you talking about? I rebuild my hope calipers but levers/master cylinders are a level of fiddly that I don't think I have the dexterity for.
For Hope I use tartybikes in the UK for pretty much anything and it arrives quickly.
Allied Action Sports and Dialed Bike Service on the North Shore do also stock parts for hope.

I moved to MTX reds for my Shimano brakes and won’t be going back. Very very good feel, power and quieter.

I was going to say the same - I haven't made the switch yet but I'm planning to - I've heard very good things about these for Shimano and I have Saint on one bike and deore on the other.

Where'd you buy em?

I got em direct, but that was at the height of the pandemic parts shortage. Been on Hayes for the last little bit so out of the loop on Shimano pads.

I’ve never had a serious complaint against the performance of Shimano brakes so I spent about 20 years on them exclusively.

The MTX pads changed em for the better in almost every way: quieter in the dry and the wet, slightly softer feel without sponginess, possibly more ultimate power.

Don’t ask me how I feel about my Dominions unless you’re ready to buy some though. 😍😍😍
