Do you guys have an air fryer? A small bake pan done in the air fryer is much faster and you do just a few at a time so always fresh. If you time it right and pack it right you could one up Penny on a ride and bring fresh baking that is still warm on a ride.

I still ride with a pack, feels naked not riding with a pack.
Switched up to a lighter trail running style pack a Deuter Ascender 7 for the usual Fromme From Home laps. A larger Deuter Freerider Lite 25 (ski pack) for when more space is needed.
Tool kit is nicely contained and organized in a Deuter tool pouch. It zippers and unfolds with pockets for everything. Nice to be able to grab the kit and switch between packs as needed. It holds pump, shock pump, tube, set of mini Knipex wrench pliers, knife, chain tool, zip ties, spare shift cable, and likely some stuff I am forgetting.
In a little 1L dry sack I keep spare gloves and a Patagonia Houdini jacket as my emergency layer, there are old buff neck gaiters stuffed in the bottom of the pack collecting dirt but happy to have it when needed.
There is almost always an old tie strap in there to use as a tow strap to pull the small kiddo up hills. Graduated from two straps as I no longer need to tow two kids. The larger pack will get stuffed with rain gear for three, sometimes the kids will carry their own but inevitably when they take off a layer it ends up in my pack. Cold wet rides we usually also pack a thermos of hot chocolate or chai latte for kid warming motivation. And then snacks snacks and more snacks. Probably more I am forgetting right now...
Does anyone make a proper disco slipper upper with a decent tread sole? No toe spikes needed, just a decent toe to heel rubber tread.
Can we start a betting pool on how long that Blunt SS holds up? The original ones were pretty soft, I put numerous dents in them on DH tires. I see many rim dings in your future.
NSBS had them.
I just put a pair of the soft Longneck on, feels nice. They were the longer 160mm ones so I trimmed them down. What I'd love to see is the flanged 143mm with the build in ends in a slightly larger diameter and the soft compound.
The kids rode Far Out 1 and 2 up to Flashback 2 and 3 earlier this fall, great trail. Thanks for your work on that and effort put in by WORCA and the whole community.
Funny part is the most of the people that think about how a trail impacts and where it's needed are the ones trying to do it by sanctioned means.
I put in time several years ago to propose a new connector from the BP to the 2nd switchback on Fromme. Trail walks done with the land manager, yet it's still in limbo. Had I just gone and built it rogue we'd have it. Instead it's a longer waiting game to do it right.
There once was a time you needed a sharp eye to find the unsanctioned stuff. You HAD to really go looking for it, both entrances and exits. Seems this is long gone. Entrances and exits are skidded in straight onto and off the main climbing routes. No longer are these unsanctioned hidden gems. Etiquette has gone out the window, smash it hard in a feeding frenzy like a powder day on WB.
I don't take issue with most of these unsanctioned trails existing or us riding them. It's that too much of this on open display can jeopardize our increased access to create more sanctioned trails.
It's not a "much higher voltage". They use a 48v system vs most older systems being 36v. Many are now moving towards a 48v system.

That sucks. I had spoken to someone this summer that was possibly going to take over the business. Hopefully CRC didn't stiff them payments and put them over the edge.
E-bike...pull on rain gear over regular clothes. You don't pedal so hard that you sweat up a storm under the rain gear.

There's about 5 months a year in Vancouver where the e-bike as a car replacement would really suck. But in less severe climates, it makes a ton of sense. Especially if replacing a second vehicle (and if you just go full dork and get a throttle 'assist'). Any Black Friday deals on Super 73s?
That's not at all what makes Fall/Winter in Vancouver suck.
Ah muffin, you might get wet.
A line from the video stands out "When your only exposure to winter is the walk across the parking lot to your car, you get and exaggerated sense of how cold it gets"
Replace cold with rain for Vancouver.

I guess I kinda assumed all these people on fancy e-bikes had DUI suspensions or something since the bikes cost close to 5 figures or more. Looks like I'm gonna have to re-evaluate this assumption.
LOL what? Seriously? You assumed anyone toting their kids around on a e-bike had a DUI???

Not really true. Once you put on some rain gear and don't care about walking around in the grocery store in head to toe gore-tex it's really only a couple weeks that it sucks to get around by e-bike in Vancouver. The once a year we get a snowstorm is when it gets parked.
Don't consider it an all or nothing...slowly transition and just get out and go a few times in crappy weather and one realizes that it's not bad. Also you don't need a 10k bike, our Radwagen has sat out during the day in rain Monday to Friday work hours for a few years now and it's doing fine.
Nate started riding full Fivers courses a couple years back at 9yrs old with his mom. Kiddo shreds.
I carry the smallest size Knipex Pliers Wrench in my tool kit. It would handle this easy.
Put a pair of these in your kit, handy little guys.

They know. I talked to the Seymour PFO and he wasn't happy that riders were ignoring the sign at the first switchback (and the one on the side of the road that says "riding on designated trails only"). If it wasn't for lack of resources on their part something would have been done already. I hope they do get the resources.
How they going to close natural trails? With live trees? Moreover, these trails are meticulously maintained with superior drainage compared to officially sanctioned trails on the west side. It's perplexing; is there a specific aversion to accommodating bikers?
The verboten to biking on the west side of Seymour is as old as dirt....my recollection is that it is part of BC parks, and they write the rules. When CBC was young and spat you out on the road they would wait for riders to come to them and ticket them.
Most people take riding for granted on the Shore, and it has always had a contentious undertone to it. It gets forgotten since there has been no disputes or issues......people ride the trails, there has been no incidents or gross closures.
But it could happen, and don't take the threat lightly. Where there is a will, there is a way. And I get it....there will always be a rogue element to biking......off the grid trails, secret stunts etc.....but if you continually piss off the land managers, whomever they might be, don't underestimate the clout they have. I suspect most non bikers are ambivalent, but I bet a lot, and a lot more in recent times, would be happy to see us gone. I wouldn't take a public survey of those living on Dempsey, top of Mt. Hwy, Hyannis......you get the idea.
They may have the clout to close it off on paper but know they would die a thousand cuts trying to win the game of wack a mole to enforce it. Their spending on staff to try and enforce anything would go up exponentially from just doing some trail work.
