great review Matt!  Love my Shimano ME-702 for all year.  I just wear waterproof socks for the cold/wet days.

you still didn't answer my question though...  I bet it costs $5/$10 per frame, less than a th(d)umb shifter.

how much more does it cost to have an extra pivot?  So much more tuneability with a "Horst" link it's really a no brainer, especially with no patent issues.

those would be great for the dig/ride days...

I think inserts make the tires bulge more when compressed exposing the sidewall more than normal. 

I've also found when someone gets a flat with inserts, it takes about 30 mins of faffing to try to get bacon strips to work and maybe a 50% of it actually working. 

There's some thought in the DH world that inserts create more rolling resistance than without...  lots of teams not using them anymore.

I wander what % of families on the North Shore are millionaires on paper....   I bet it's high.

I think people are just sort of going out on special occasions.  It's big money to eat out and with tipping at an all-time high.  The price of drinks are also super high....  $10 for beer?  Get bent.

They know. I talked to the Seymour PFO and he wasn't happy that riders were ignoring the sign at the first switchback (and the one on the side of the road that says "riding on designated trails only"). If it wasn't for lack of resources on their part something would have been done already. I hope they do get the resources.

Whenever I'm running down upper Old Buck and meet riders heading up it, I'll point out that they've passed at least two "No Biking" signs to get where they are. The usual response is some entitled variation of "It's all good, bro!"

If it's mid-week, fine, but on the weekend in full view of numerous other trail users, it's a bad look for the entire biking community.

actually the trails that filter down to upper ob don't have any signs....  as long as bikers show respect to other trail users, no big deal.  The entitlement of hikers/runners on crown land is rich.
