It’s funny, I know a lot of folks who are heavy on with the standardized fleet goals. Like the whole family rides Codes with the same sized rotors and if one bike goes to 12-spd they all go 12-spd. Inter-swappability is a key goal. My family are all on 11-spd chains (mountain bikes and commuters) but from there it is a rolling sh*t show of SRAM, Shimano HG, Shimano LG, and ShiRAMano in Claire’s case for drivetrains. No two bikes have the same number of shifter clicks. My Wife loves her HC-lever Magura brakes (small hands) and Claire’s on a friend’s used Guide brakes. I’m running Hayes, Formula, and have a set of original MT7 brakes as a backup.
