Sorry to hear your stuff got lifted. There are scumbags everywhere these days. Love the shout-out to the mountain morph pump. I have had one for a while and every time someone needs a pump they are amazed at how well it works and how much less annoying it is to use than other portable pumps. I have been carrying it around in my pack for a few years now and its size is a pain to the point that I've replaced it with a more compact oneup EDC pump, but it will definitely be living in my truck bed and parts bin as my other "go-to". It really is "like bringing your floor pump on the trail" as they say.

I bought a Dakine Hotlaps bag with 2 bottle holders on it and bought some extra water bottles and rode with that set up (2 bottles in the hip pack, 1 on the frame) EXACTLY once. The weight of the water on the hip pack bouncing around on the rocks was miserable. Try to tighten up so it stops bouncing? Now it's constricting my waist and making it hard to take a deep breath. Nah. Back to my Camelback MULE.

I don't have any 12sp experience other than my GX, but every time I get on my old bike with 10 speed XT I'm reminded of just how good that drivetrain is. It is so smooth and shifts well under just about all conditions.

I run an 11-42 cassette with a 30T front ring and I could probably use a little smaller of a ring but I'd have to switch to the 64BCD middle ring of my old 3x10 cranks.

Questioning the wisdom of the pinkbike comments section, how DARE you?! But seriously this is right. Steep seat tube is great for "winch and plummet" but 90% of riders in North America don't ride the north shore on a weekly basis. I think right around 75 - 76 for seat tubes works well in a variety of situations.

Interestingly enough I ride One-Ups on my hardtail and I ride with a ball-over-axle type foot placement without much of a complaint, though I haven't had a ton of experience on other pedals. I have a set of Tioga concave pedals on my other bike and like them too.
