Just toss the blades into your bathroom wall when you’re finished with them. The good news is you get a new blade every shave or two, depending on how things go so Mikes wall is going to fill up fast! You can also pick the used blades into the package or recycle them if you insist.

I’m kinda cheating on the seven years of MacRide/dadcountry front: that’s over two kids. Though my tall and lanky (then) six year old did once sit into a shuttle lap in Golden that I left with a fat lip.

I’m a little envious of all the great pics you have of riding with your kids - mine are all sweaty lens unfocussed selfies! I’m on the verge of my youngest outgrowing the MacRide we have cycled through two kids and it will be hard to let go. 

At almost seven years of having some sort of a copilot, the day I take those notched headset spacers off it will be a sad one. Surely other people have said “enjoy it while you can” and I’d echo that, because that time really flies.

Andrew, Big-Vest got to you. I don't know when you sold out to sleeveless (maybe in the previous century?!) but it's pretty obvious. All-vests-all-the-time. I see what's going on here.

Fair disclosure, I am certainly not an organic chemist, and a lot of material about this subject is pretty detailed and might not make sense unless you're a relatively well versed but the gist is typically there in the summary/abstract (to spare the gory details). Or, quite often buried in a journal that requires a subscription. I don't want to be overly negative, but can't remember the last time I heard a research partner say "things are getting better."

Here's a great example from Park City, focused toward the public and a little more on ski wax specifically. I think in a lot of ways because this is a recreational impact it's a similar situation to prancing around the forest on our bikes, shedding Finish Line red-cap chain lube into pristine alpine creeks (I am indirectly guilty of this in the past). Obviously we can't have zero impact, but choosing something with a lower impact like a bio based oil vs legacy products can matter. Sometimes try as you may it's hard to know what you're buying - I find the wax based chain lube sites (e.g. Squirt) are a little vague about what's in the wax (because it's proprietary, I know).  Or, what's in Dumonde MRCC oils anyway? What I'm getting at is I appreciate WPL sharing this much info.

I think that quote is in reference to bushing slop, not friction. Or at least that's how I read it. Rattly, locked out XC forks ...

Interesting article and well stated, I work with water quality in stormwater/watershed kind of scale and this PFAS issue is a big one. Once I started reading, it was hard to ignore the research and just keep buying PTFE chain lube. 

Even without a tech background, I think there's enough material for people to make sense of this and do some independent thought! Consumer choices make a big difference.

So, from the people that have done/had this done, is it fair to say I could assess my fork whilst completing a lower leg service? 

i.e. Put each stanchion through a lower leg independently to see how freely (or not) the fork glides? Logically - if it's smooth, I am good - if it's sticky, I would benefit from a service like this? Is that an oversimplification?

Which Dumonde Tech product can't you get in Canada?

I have a fresh bottle of Pro X Regular, I have freehub Oil and Grease on hand. I even have liquid grease. Can't think of what else they make.

Curious about what we are missing too. As far as I can tell ProX is ProX, Canada or not.

I was talking to that guy too. Interesting setup. If it was me doing that, I might not have Linkguide because the general availability just isn't as good as the other stuff yet - and certainly not from the discount sources.

Lilac Balboa is such a fantastic name for anything.

I think LR overreacted just a bit to that. 

The original comment in the PB Pod wasn't about beginner riders - was about beginner YouTubers. Kind of agree. Is a Participation Award still an award? Marty's post for example - a well made Chromag hardtail video is great to watch. Still well above my riding skill, but very relatable to view and subjectively much better than some of the hacky YTers you see adjusting cams on the side of the trail.

I remember seeing a guy on a recumbent bicycle which had a plasticky enclosure around it.  Not hard plastic - the clear and thin flexible stuff.  With decent ventilation it would at least keep the rain out.

I just returned from a week in Paris. It rained five of those days, from a bit to a lot at a time. The Parisians still bike commute around with ponchos that go over the handlebars (kinda like a wearable umbrella) and a good set of fenders. The motorcycles have a similar thing that covers your legs and lap essentially with a poncho on top. That and a good set of fenders and I think they're all good. Then if the weather goes really awful, just take transit.

Why do the bubble thing? Seems fragile and like a pain in the ass to park in a bike rack. And knowing how cargo goes on a bike it sounds like an unholy terror to securely attach - especially with the Demolition Man inspired weirdness going on with inexpensive commuter ebikes.

I'd guess half the commuter cars there were electric and I even saw the odd fuel cell Toyota Mirai.

If we are lucky we (North Americans) will be where they are now in 10 years.
