We had a close call on Thursday night here in Kamloops. Had to evacuate my area, fire was literally across the street and down a block. Scariest thing I've ever been through.

Yeah certainly opened my eyes to the dangers of flash fires though! We back directly onto a forest (Juniper Ridge) so my house is quite vulnerable. Planning a sprinkler system is my top priority

To follow up on this, ended up going to Insync Physio based on another rec and how close it was. Dude there put me through an hour of of assessments then gave me three things to do at home every other day or so. Started feeling better after 2-3 sessions at home and two weeks later could barely tell it ever bothered me. Completely bonkers to me that an issue that had been nagging me for years was that easily solvable, and was very different than my previous PT experiences. Also was not at all stuff I would have ever guessed/tried.

If you're worried about being _caught_ in a snowstorm as opposed to just driving through the snow, a foldable mattress and winter bag made a huge difference to my stress levels.

As others have said, rubber will make a bigger difference than anything else. I've preferred SUVs to crossovers, but mostly for the added weight in the snow.

Khan Academy is a good suggestion. You can also usually hit up the nearest university and seniors/grad students that do cheap tutoring if you need a little help but don't want to shell out for an entire course. I'd also make sure its actually calc you need -- sometimes "calculus" gets used as a shorthand for "math harder than algebra".

There is a TGR thread on people who sleep in parkinglots. Lot of good info there, though you have to trawl to get it. I'd be really, really, really skeptical of vanlifers on youtube or instagram, they generally seem to be optimizing for what looks good on youtube and instagram and not actual problems you have when sleeping in a van in the winter. I've done a bunch of weekends in honda element with the gf on a mattress in the back. If you're staying in the PNW, you basically never have to worry about being cold. Our biggest problem, by far, is moisture and condensation, which we haven't really found a good way to manage. Happy to answer any questions, though with a ford transit you'll likely be able to do a lot more than we could.
