So did the cushcore thing for a bit, liked it. Till I had to remove the tire. I’m not exactly known for my patience. Out came the knife. 😭. Any tips for next time?

Andrew, just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the top bleed. Worked great, super easy and clean. So again, thanks
I’ve ran all the big brand brakes and always preferred Magura. Currently running MT 7’s on my big bike. They can be very finicky to bleed and I’ve certainly had my frustration in finding that perfect bleed and that sounds like you may be experiencing that. It takes patience but when I find the sweet spot there is nothing else I’d rather use.
Now THAT should turn a few heads!
Love my Endura stuff. I have many pieces and they are my favourites. Pricey but you get what you pay for.
Several top 10 finishes for Canadians. 👍👍
I think having a complete rupture was in my favour. Having it overlapped and stitched ended up giving it more strength. My surgeon said with the extra scar tissue it would be stronger than before. You should see the scar from the surgery though.
I hope all goes well for you Andrew. Embrace the pain! Cheers🍻
Andrew, here’s my break down. About fifteen years ago I landed awkwardly after a drop with only the very end of my foot on the peddle. Snap! Complete rupture. Like yourself I had to find my way down the hill and that sucked a lot.
Now complete rupture meant immediate surgery. I spent two weeks in a proper cast with my foot stretched right out as to take all the pressure off the tendon. Then I spent the next six weeks in an air cast. The boot had an insole that was made of many layers. Every 4-5 days I pulled a layer off to put tension on the tendon to start stretching it. After the boot I moved to a shoe with a wedge in it. Rehab included a lot of pool time and stretching. She recommended the stationary bike, and a fair bit of time on the treadmill (flat grade). In three months I was able to go back to work, placing and finishing concrete. Here’s the worst part, first week my surgeon instructed me to only work 4 hr days not so much to protect it but kind of abuse it a bit, get it fully stretched out. It Fucking hurt like crazy. First couple weeks were complete hell. Keep telling yourself it’s good pain, if there is such a thing. Long story short, I was off the bike for about five months.
Oh ya, even with strength training my right calf is still significantly smaller than my left.
Might want to start out fully suspended. 😂
Grew up in Gibsons. Doug was one of my elementary school teachers. I was a bmx rat and he really encouraged that.
Born and raised on the SSC (maybe that’s what is wrong with me). I don’t have too many regrets in life but leaving the coast may be one if not the largest. Pete, you made a great move.when the kids leave the nest I know I will find my way back. A shout out to Doug Detwiller a mtb pioneer on the coast and a great teacher.

Check out the boat launch. You need to gas up before you back down the hill.
Pretty sad. How many care about this canary in the coal mine. We have a canary in our own back yard. The SSC is starting to feel the effects of reckless development and poor resource management and it’s not something that will be fixed overnight.
How long until we’re driving our electric vehicles to the water stations?
I’m not sure what’s going on, but the rabbit ears on my tinfoil helmet have had very spotty reception lately. Does anybody else have this problem?
Closed 1980. In the late 90’s that property started to be developed. Anytime I worked on that property and Woodlands as well it would give me the heeby jeebies. New West used to be the capital of BC. You should see the shit we find in the ground around New West.
Yes, Syncro, that’s the one. The truck traffic will always be a fact. Like I said, New West is the armpit of the lower mainland. Unless there is some forward thinking on the part of New West, the GVRD and the province it will remain that way.
In the city plan there as been a planned Braid overpass since the Millennium line was constructed. If you were to look, there is a dip in the line to accommodate it. City of Coquitlam has been proactive about that plan already. It was like pulling teeth just to get the bailey bridge replaced (a fucking Bailey bridge, what is this? WW2?). We recently completed a rehab of Agnes from 2nd to Douglas college and it was pathetic how New West was apposed to fixing any of the minor that we were tying into. We were already there, would have been cheap repairs. They were even deviating from the contract in places, pay now or pay more later I guess. Not always the best strategy.
New Westminster is notorious for blocking common sense infrastructure. Where Braid meets United Boulevard is a pretty good example. Not too sure if that has anything to do with it really. That said, the north side likely isn’t capable of supporting any more than four lanes. Just not enough room nor the desire to blow it up and make it possible. New West is the armpit of Metro Van.
Not just hockey, those ads are Fucking everywhere. Brutal. Should start running ads for weed!

See ya Bo, it’s a shame. Ironic that you’re going to the island. Just like Trevor under another shitty management group. I was all for signing Miller but not at this expense.
Francesco, sell the Fucking team!
^ my buddies, when we were kids in the eighties, we’re doing the same thing on our bmx bikes in Gibsons. Even a few downhill single tracks down to the village. Where the love began.
He was very old, I would wonder if he was of sound mind. An angle I saw a little. It’s a legit point of view. Seems to me that she has displayed a pattern which may not put her in the best light.
When the original owner of the company I work for passed, a couple of his trusted guys in the office had previously conned him into changing his will. (Multi million dollar company). His granddaughter challenged his will and won. I would certainly be reaching out to lawyers.
