So I did some research on the whole thing and apparently the Bomber 58 wont fit due to headtube length/external headset.

So instead I'll go for the Z1 in 170mm. I run a 180mm RS Totem atm, so that should offset the 1.5" height gain in the front a little.

I'll run a test version of this with a borrowed 27,5 and go for something nice if I like it, RF Atlas or Spank Vibro most likely.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I think angles will be fine, IIRC the Scythe gets a little steeper head angle at 200mm rear so the 27,5 wheel and the new Fork should make it "more 2023" if anything.

I would like to re-build my 2009 Banshee Scythe into something more modern. I tried finding decent 26" wheelsets and a fork but its kind of difficult.

Therefore I was thinking about upgrading to a 27.5 front wheel and a new fork.

I can get Marzocchis at dealer prices and I'm considering getting the Z1, or even the Bomber 58.

Anyone tried this before and can give some feedback whether this would work of it's just beating a dead horse?
