Thanks!  Couldn't find a link to the actual model since they're a few years old, but Ryders brand and they look similar to link below.  Were they near the gate at the top of Blairview Ave. then?  I figured they would have bounced off the perch on a bumpier section...

Running great yesterday on Severed and Pangor, couple of bad ice areas:

Severed, about 100 m up from the junction with Bridle where it flattens out. Last place you'd expect it since it's pretty low, also hard to see coming and it's a fast section.

Pangor- root bundle right before the entrance to the rock roll, pretty easy to spot as you come out of the right hand turn.

Also about 100 m up from intersection with Bridle where there's a sustained section of smooth undulating rock. This one's thick and won't be gone anytime soon.

Keep an eye out for these spots especially if they're under snow.

Heading up this weekend with an intermediate rider, any idea which is the least gnarly option higher up and if it's easy to spot the entrance? Only been there once before and went no higher than Frank's I believe.

It's hard to predict in there, I live nearby and it can be sloppy when you'd expect dry and vice versa. The Delta Nature Reserve was okay last weekend just walking around, I think the Shed would probably be fine.

Thanks for the info, yeah she knows these trails pretty well and would have another rider behind. I'll see what info I can find on Boxers' night vision. I was going to leave her behind for my first ride at least until I see what it's like but then again the guilt trips are pretty hard to take when she sees the bike stuff come out…

Going for my first night ride tomorrow, usually I bring my dog riding but don't know how well they can see the terrain at night.

Seems like a good idea to put some sort of light on her collar so I can see her if we get a bit separated, and maybe a red light on my seat post so she can see me better but I could see these light sources messing with her night vision.

Anyway, appreciate any advice.

Is this televised , I heard CBC used to cover it. Or is there a website where I can watch it afterwards without already knowing the results?

Great initiative, my daughters are only 5 months and two years old but I ride the shed all the time and have already picked the best trails for them to learn on when the time comes. My two year old already has a push bike needless to say and has her own version of wheelies and bunny hops.

Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking this way, and not loving the excuses so much either. Best of luck.
