I don't like the fact that the city of Vancouver will not be replacing about 3 dozen live-in caretakers who reside in field houses scattered throughout city parks. Once they get old & move, their job will be contracted out. Another example of losing the personal touch. The company with the lowest bid will be the ones loading the 9 o'clock gun, cleaning the restrooms & keeping the place safe for park users.

Maybe someone thought this was a case of "dumbing down the shore", and ripped it out? Even if that person was of that opinion, they should still respect the time / labor it took to complete the work & leave it alone. If the person responsible for the vandalsim was so concerned, they should have discussed the changes with the nsmba.

Here in Kingston the world's biggest village council is full of slum lords. More worried about development than actually providing services. Hell the council won't even do proper road repair. They do the bare minimum which is pretty much having the same crew wander around filling the same pot holes they have been filling since 2009. LOL

Nothing will change until it's not all about money (profits). And guess what...it will always be all about money / maximum profits.

Garbage men & recycling truck guys must really hate the first collection day after Christmas, eh? Probably twice the amount of stuff to pick up.
